Collins dictionary defines storyboard as a set of pictures which show what will happen in something such as a film or advertisement that is being planned. In other words, it is a set of images picturing different angles or shots which is needed for emphasis and what the illustrator and writer want to signify.

Catherine Mae "Cathy" Gonzaga, known as Alex Gonzaga, is a Filipina vlogger, actress, TV host, comedienne, author and singer. She was born on January 16,1988 in Taytay, Rizal which she currently lives. According to Toni Gonzaga, her sister, Alex is not just Toni Gonzaga's sister. To her, Alex is her own person.

On the other hand Alex admitted that Toni is more knowledgeable than her on particular things, while she is a type of person that stands by her own beliefs-- an opinionated and a silly one. She also knows when it is the time to listen to her sister. The times she admits her mistakes and indecisions about certain things, needing Toni's help to clear her mind. This also makes her admirable, for it is never easy to accept one's wrong judgment.

Alex consider Toni her role model in various aspects in life, but perhaps, without Alex knowing what Toni can see to her, for her sister regards her as a commendable woman by being bright, cheerful, energetic, loving, and friendly. Not everyone has those traits which Alex has, and for Toni, those are some factors making her to be unique.

Example of a Plagiarized Work

"Smiles for the World"

"Smiles for the World" was a plagiarized photo of Mark Joseph Solis that had won first place in 2nd Calidad Humana National Essay Photography Competition of the Chilean Embassy.

Mark Solis is a political science cum laude, and an alumnus in University of the Philippines (UP). Moreover, Solis also studied Master in Public Administration on the said university. He then admitted that he used the work which is not his-- a photo titled "Neptune, King of the Sea" originally from a social entrepreneur, Gregory John Smith on his Flickr account; taken in 2006 – along with other photos of children in Brazil. Solis won first place and claimed a price worth of $1,000, a high-end mobile phone and a round trip ticket to Chile and Brazil last September 18, 2013. But after he admitted that it is not his work, he had received consequences such as expulsion and suspension from the UP, suppression of graduation and other privileges, removal of registration privileges, permanent disqualification from enrollment, and admonishment. Also, the prices he received had been revoked by the embassy.

FOREWORD

As an individual living in this newly-formed generation, technology is the counterpart of ourselves wherein media and information are essential in every aspects of our lives. Being literate in this age is necessary. Through our ability to identify, understand, interpret, create, and communicate in every situations in this techno-world, we can determine what is true and what is fake and on how to react in every circumstances we are witnessing.

By reading this blog, you are able to see what media and information literacy means. Likewise, the outputs, activities, homeworks and other stuffs regarding this subject matter. And through this, you can get ideas which can help you to have a further information. I willingly present this blog in order for us to be aware on what are the right actions to perform in being literate not only in social media but also in real world.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I am a Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) student currently studying in Marikina Polytechnic College. I enjoy being in this grade level even though it is quite difficult and if I feel the pressure every time I go to school and even in going in our house due to the uncounted tasks given to us, I always think about my goals and plans whenever I finish my studies. One of these is to give return to the sacrifices of my parents just for us to be educated and have a better future.
On the other hand, I am thankful of studying here in MPC because without it, I am not able to meet my friends as well as my classmates even I already have those during my junior high school days. I really enjoy my senior high school life with them. Also, to the instructors in this university who give us a quality education wherein they are not only teaching the lessons regarding their subject matter but also they teach us to be a disciplined and responsible student.

I am Hannah Marie L. Ambon, a blessed person living with my parents and five siblings, loves to watch movies, eat french fries and sing in a karaoke. And I do believe that when life gets hard, just pray and fight; for God will fight for you.
